How to Analyze and Defragment Disks with Disk Defragmenter
The process of finding and grouping fragmented files and folders is called defragmenting. This process locates fragmented files and folders and groups them together by moving the pieces of data onto a single connected space on the Hard Disk. The Defragmenter is able to defrag FAT, FAT32 and NTFS formats.
Analysis Readout Colors
Red indicates fragmented files.
Blue indicates contiguous (non fragmented) files.
Green indicates system files, which Disk Defragmenter cannot move.
White indicates free space on the volume.

Analyze: This option initiates a quick scan of the selected Hard Disk and displays the result within the bar on the selected Hard Disk window as the colors mentioned; Red, Green, Blue and White.
Defragment: This option begins the actual defragmentation of the Hard Disk so depending on the severity of the disc one might want to go find something to do in the meantime as this is not a fast process no matter ones computers capability.
